Are you looking for a way to use your lived experience of disability and/or passion for the arts to drive real and lasting change across the community?

As a Director of Access2Arts you will be uniquely placed to contribute to the strategic direction of an organisation that is achieving outstanding impact in the arts and disability communities.  This valuable opportunity will allow you to translate your passion and experience into real action and change.

Access2Arts is recognised locally, nationally, and internationally as experts in access and inclusion and as thought-leaders in the field of arts and disability.  We address barriers to access in the arts by;

  • Building capacity in d/Deaf and disabled people who want to be involved in the arts.
  • Building the capacity of the broader arts sector to become more inclusive and accessible.

Our purpose is to foster an inclusive arts community that develops, embraces and celebrates the unique talents, skills and perspectives of people who are d/Deaf or disabled, creating a future where d/Deaf and disabled people thrive within an inclusive arts ecology.

In order to achieve this Access2Arts supports:

  • d/Deaf and disabled people in South Australia to get involved in the arts as audiences, participants, artists, arts workers and leaders.
  • Arts and cultural organisations to become more inclusive and accessible.

As a thriving organisation experiencing significant growth and seeking to increase our impact, we are searching for several new Directors as we embark on our next exciting stage.

The objectives of this position will be achieved by working with the Chair and CEO to;

  • articulate and enact the organisation’s values, vision, mission and strategies
  • oversee the organisation’s governance
  • ensure the organisation is legally compliant

Lived experience of disability and/or experience in the arts or non-profit sector are essential for this role.  Having established yourself as a proven leader in the arts and/or disability sector will be viewed favourable, as will governance experience supported by qualifications such as AICD, MBA or GLF.

The future of Access2Arts represents a truly exciting challenge to make an impact that counts.
