Are you looking for a way to use your lived experience of disability and passion for the arts to drive real and lasting change across the community?

As the Chairperson of Access2Arts you will be uniquely placed to guide the strategic direction of an organisation that is achieving outstanding impact in the arts and disability communities.  This valuable opportunity will allow you to translate your passion and experience into real action and change.

Access2Arts is recognised locally, nationally, and internationally as experts in access and inclusion and as thought-leaders in the field of arts and disability.  We address barriers to access in the arts by;

  • Building capacity in d/Deaf and disabled people who want to be involved in the arts.
  • Building the capacity of the broader arts sector to become more inclusive and accessible.

As a thriving organisation experiencing significant growth and seeking to increase our impact, we are searching for a new Chairperson to lead the board and organisation as we embark on our next exciting stage.

The Chairperson will oversee the governance and development of Access2Arts, and is responsible for leading the Board, Chief Executive and Access2Arts team to deliver outstanding outcomes for the South Australian Disability and Arts communities.

The objectives of this position will be achieved by working with the Board and CEO to;

  • articulate and enact the organisation’s values, vision, mission and strategies
  • oversee the organisation’s governance
  • ensure the organisation is legally compliant

In addition, the Chairperson will act as a public voice for the organisation in matters of disability access and inclusion in the arts, supported by the Access2Arts team.

Lived experience of disability and the ability to speak on matters of access and inclusion is essential for this role.  Having established yourself as a proven leader in the arts and/or disability sector will be viewed favourable, as will governance experience supported by qualifications such as AICD, MBA or GLF.

The future of Access2Arts represents a truly rousing challenge to make an impact where counts.  If you would like to be a part of our future, please submit a letter of application, along with your CV to chair@access2arts.org.au
