During Nature Festival we invite you to think with your hands, sculpting islands from clay while reflecting on the increasing impacts of climate change across Australia’s 8,222 islands.
Guided by experienced clay artist Sandhya Mulchandani and Audio Describer Catherine Fitz-Gerald, the process encourages slowing down, connecting with material and meaning, and cultivating a sense of stewardship for the natural world.
The one hour sessions embrace mindful making—where awareness grows through attention and connection with the earth. Each clay island exploring how creativity can nurture environmental consciousness.
The islands will be included in Error 404: Islands not found, a community art exhibition in SALA 2027.
Accessible by car. Accessible parking. A clear wide path leads to the Art Shed. Bushland setting. Catherine Fitz-Gerald and experienced Audio Describer leads the session, low vision and blind participants are very welcome.
Session 11.30 - 12.30 is a Relaxed Session with maximum 10 participants. Use the special promotional code ACCESS to reserve spaces at this session.
