A quiet, sensory friendly evening for visitors of all ages, their families, friends and support workers.
Visitors with sensory or accessibility needs can enjoy a quieter, less crowded visit to the South Australian Museum out of hours.
While everyone is always welcome at the Museum, sometimes the crowds and noise make visits harder for neurodivergent visitors and those living with a disability. Some of the screens, lights and sounds around the Museum will be altered for the evening to make it a more sensory friendly experience.
This is a ticketed, pay-what-you-can event for people with sensory needs and their accompanying family, friends or support workers. Please book a ticket for all attendees when you book, as numbers are limited to ensure a quiet environment.
Some audio elements will be turned down during this event, and limited tickets available to ensure a quieter experience. Our sensory backpacks will be available for free loan.
Tickets to Treasures of the Viking Age: The Galloway Hoard can be purchased separately at the door during this event, which will include audio descriptions. Entry to this exhibition is not included with your ticket to the Sensory-friendly evening. Please note that the desk is cash free and can only accept card payments.
