Event description

Queer Screen Film Fest is coming 28 Aug - 2 Sep in cinemas in Sydney and 2-8 Sep On Demand.

Get ready to immerse yourself in 35 new and a few favourite LGBTIQ+ films at the 11th edition of Queer Screen Film Fest.

We’re bookending the festival with two fabulously flirty and romantic films, and we’re continuing that theme with an incredible documentary in the program. Enjoy appearances from well-known actors like Elliot Page, Evan Rachel Wood, Lukas Gage, and Australia’s own Keiynan Lonsdale.

The feature film Close To You co-stars Hillary Baack (who identifies as deaf and disabled) as Elliot Page's Their character is also deaf.

Close To You
Academy Award Nominee Elliot Page (Juno, The Umbrella Academy) is stellar in this incredibly authentic tale about a man confronting his past and discovering newfound confidence.

Open Captions are provided in cinema for two films and Closed Captions On Demand for the same films:

Big Boys
A young teen develops complicated feelings towards his cousin’s (surprisingly handsome and charming) boyfriend in this humorous, heartfelt journey through the awkwardness of self-discovery.

The Judgement
Blending the paranormal with the real life horrors of homophobia, The Judgment explores the lasting consequences of ignorance and shame on a gay couple when they visit their native Egypt.
