Event description

Celebrate the opening night of Push / Pull.

Join us for the opening night of Push / Pull – a program of live, "non-haveable" and experiential art encounters that honours Adelaide’s influential role in the history of post-object art. Push / Pull asks: What kinds of encounters are possible, when the shock of the new is a local tradition?

The evening includes a contemporary performance informed by Ritual Integration Performance by Pam Gilbert, a 1976 work originally presented at the Experimental Art Foundation (EAF) as part of Post-Object Art Australia and New Zealand: A Survey. The work is revisited by artist Jingwei Bu, with musical accompaniment by Emily Tulloch and costumes by Adele Sliuzas.

Featuring a program of live, experiential, post-object and otherwise ‘non-haveable’ art encounters, and unpacking Adelaide’s leading role as the historical world centre of post-object art today, Push / Pull asks: What kinds of encounters are possible, when the shock of the new is a local tradition?

Our bar will be stocked by our sponsors Alpha Box & Dice Wines and Bowden Brewing.

This event will be audio described.
