Through performance, moving image, installation and sound, national and international artists assembled across both floors of the gallery probe voice and the action of speech.
Communication is a two-way process that can succeed, sometimes, but can also fail spectacularly. Amid the frustration, futility and misunderstandings, Samstag believes there is catharsis to be found in the humour and absurdity of our attempts to connect.

All areas of the Museum are accessible by wheelchair. The Hawke Building can be accessed via a ramp at the main entrance on the corner of North Terrace and Fenn Place. The Museum has flat-floor access to Gallery One and elevator access to Galleries Two and Three. All spaces are accessible via automatic sliding doors.
We welcome guide dogs and assistance dogs.
Sensory friendly mornings will be run every Wednesday morning from 10 am to 12 pm for the duration of the exhibition.
