Jenny is a multi-talented visual artist, singer/songwriter, sculptor and radio presenter.
Jenny’s art practice started primarily painting big bright, whimsical watercolours, then progressed to large, bold acrylics and rapidly moved on to metal sculpture. She finds comfort in making quirky, unique sculptures out of found objects. She takes great delight in sourcing materials from a myriad of places such as garage sales, swap-meets, hard rubbish and antique shops. She regularly exhibits at Brighton Sculptures By The Sea, and has nicknamed herself the ‘Welding Singer’ as opposed to the ‘Wedding Singer’.
For several years she has been writing and recording music and performing live with bands across Adelaide, including events such as the Semaphore Music Festival and Adelaide Fringe. She has also performed music for brain-injured patients at the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre as part of the Music Matters Program. In addition, she is a regular on the Adelaide Open Mic scene. Music is Jenny’s passion; her real highlight is singing to a live audience with her soulful, bluesy style. Jenny lives by the well-respected adage, “Life is a glass half full” and this is reflected in all of her creative pursuits.
Jenny began her radio career at Coast FM back in the nineties, co-hosting morning radio and presenting her drive show. Jenny enjoys all aspects of radio and sharing a rapport with her loyal listeners. In addition, her listeners enjoy her unique blend of rock, folk, blues, soul & dance music on her solo shows. She aims to make people feel good hence the name of her current show, Feel Good Friday with JennyG, which is live on 88.7 Adelaide’s Coast FM every Friday from 2-4 pm.
