Charlie is a productive artist whose intricately patterned works are inspired by the natural world. Working in a number of media Taplin often juxtaposes abstract shapes against recognisable symbols as he methodically constructs his works. He is currently interested in the microscopic world and is developing a body of work inspired by their shapes. Taplin has exhibited extensively in group exhibitions and his work is represented in several private collections.
