About the artist

Bonnie Williams – Artistic Director, Producer

Bonnie Williams is a proud disabled artist with over 20 years of experience working in the disability arts sector. Her multifaceted career spans the roles of producer, dancer, teacher, mentor, and creative facilitator. Bonnie is known for her dynamic presence both onstage and behind the scenes, and her work consistently champions access, authenticity, and inclusive creative practice.

Bonnie has cultivated a long-standing relationship with Restless Dance Theatre, one of Australia’s leading inclusive dance companies. She works regularly as an educator and facilitator, supporting both emerging and established artists to explore movement, expression, and self-determined practice. In 2024, she joined Restless as a company dancer, performing in PRIVATE VIEW, which debuted to critical acclaim at the Adelaide Festival and toured nationally.

Under her stage persona Santosha Storm, Bonnie is a bold and captivating force in the burlesque scene. Known for her powerful stage presence and genre-bending acts, Santosha has become a regular fixture at cabaret venues and festivals across Adelaide and interstate.

Bonnie is also the founder and producer of DOWNPOUR, a sold-out immersive cabaret that brings together performance art, circus, dance, and burlesque in a space that prioritises diversity, access, and creative risk-taking. Through this work, she has created a platform for artists who are often underrepresented in mainstream performance spaces.

At the heart of all her work is a commitment to building safer, braver spaces in the arts—spaces where performers are celebrated for their full selves and audiences are invited to feel, reflect, and connect. With every project, Bonnie continues to challenge the norm and reshape the creative landscape in South Australia.
