Put your skills to work. Join Access2Arts’ board!

A crowd of people watch an event celebrating International Day of People with Disabilities.

Access2Arts wants to grow our board. If you’ve got the skills? HR, ICT, Legal or Marketing.  Put your skills to work. Help make the arts accessible

Access2Arts is inviting Expressions of Interest from committed and motivated individuals to join our Board of Management. We want to hear from disabled and non-disabled artists, arts workers and leaders with a passion for increasing Deaf and disabled people’s participation in arts and culture.

Board members are responsible for;
●     Contributing to ongoing governance
●     Informing strategic development and growth
●     Promoting the company’s goals, and
●     Connecting with potential partners to build long-term sustainability.

Access2Arts is disability-led with our constitution requiring that at least 51% of board members and senior staff identify as Deaf or disabled.

Access2Arts breaks down barriers for Deaf and disabled people. We celebrate the unique perspectives, stories and aesthetics of Deaf and disabled artists. We demonstrate the value of telling authentic stories through art – including art that can challenge, reveal and reflect disability as a rich and intrinsic part of the human experience. Access2Arts is recognised locally, nationally and internationally as experts in access and inclusion and as thought leaders in the field of arts and disability.

Access2Arts believes everyone has an equal right to access arts and culture, but many Deaf and disabled people face barriers to that access. Access2Arts addresses those barriers by:
Building capacity in Deaf and disabled people who want to be involved in the arts at any level (including audiences, participants, artists, arts workers, leaders and board members), and
Building capacity of the broader arts sector to become more inclusive and accessible.

Our vision – We want to see a future where Deaf and disabled people thrive within an inclusive arts ecology.

At bi-monthly meetings, the Board govern to reflect on operational performance and strategic direction. Access2Arts Board Membership is voluntary and Board Members receive no remuneration for their work. Board Members do have a right to request for reimbursement of expenses incurred during duties performed as Board Members, and as approved by the Board.

If you are interested in joining the Access2Arts board, please contact our Business Director by email to hello@access2arts.org.au to request a Board Member Information Form. Complete this and return it by email along with a current CV or Resume, and a short biography introducing yourself.
