Tindo Utpurndee, Sunset Ceremony, Audio Described: Adelaide Fringe

To officially open the 2019 Adelaide Fringe, everyone is invited to this significant Sunset Ceremony to recognise the living culture of the First Nations and to pay respect to the spirit of the land. This place holds many ancient stories and Tindo Utpurndee is one of these, which speaks of spirit and sharing of light. This event is Audio Described.

When: Friday, 15 February 2019

Where: River Torrens, Karrawirra Parri, Adelaide

Time: Touch Tour 7:15pm, Ceremony 7:45pm

Note: Please meet at the Info Booth at 6:45 pm for a tactile tour and 7:45 for Audio description of the ceremony.

Important information from the Adelaide Fringe:
Please note: On Opening Night Friday February 15th the University Footbridge will be closed. Access is via Frome Road or King William Road Bridges.

A designated accessible drop off point for opening night with kerb ramps is located on Frome Road at the intersection of War Memorial Drive, closest to North Adelaide from 6pm-midnight.

The regular Adelaide City Council accessible parking on War memorial Drive will be closed, however those on Victoria Drive and Kintore avenue are available.  A viewing area for Tindo Utpurndee, Sunset Ceremony for people with accessibility requirements is located adjacent the ceremonial sand circle, near the college boat sheds. Friends, family and support people are also welcome in the designated viewing area. The precinct is relatively flat with paved surfaces. Auslan interpretation of the ceremony will be provided in this region also. Please meet at the Info Booth at 6:45 pm for a tactile tour and 7:45 for Audio description of the ceremony.
