Description

Queer Minds Matter is a unique program that runs mental health awareness sessions for LGBTIQ people ages 15+ years. The project began last year when Margie Fischer, Founder of Feast Festival, and the Feast Queer Youth Drop-in, co-facilitated a series of mental health workshops for the LGBTIQA+ community. The workshops were highly successful and now the project is being expanded, with workshops scheduled in Elizabeth, Hackham, Mt Barker, St Mary’s and the CBD.

In each session we will share stories of recovery from a lived experience perspective, do a group activity to challenge stigma and reframe narratives, build skills to better manage distress and create a toolkit in the form of a tote bag that participants can take with them at the end of the session.

The events are free to attend, open to all ages 15+ years and light refreshments will be provided.
