Flamboyance, a making workshop

Four pink crocheted flamingos appear against a blue and green background suggesting a waterhole.

Where: Adelaide City Library, Third Floor, Rundle Place

Friday, 18 September 2020, 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM

flamboyance (/flamˈbɔɪəns/) noun:

  1. the tendency to attract attention because of one’s exuberance, confidence, and stylishness.
  2. the quality of being bright, colourful, and very noticeable.
  3. a group of flamingos.

Despite (or in spite of) COVID-19 and social-distancing, The Gay Hooker (textile artist Richard Boyle) has gone global inviting our community to be part of his Flamboyance exhibition. Crochet your contribution, join Richard to learn the foundations of making a crochet flamingo to be part of this yarn-led COVID response.

Want to be part of Access2Arts’ Flamboyance participatory art project but don’t know where to begin? Join the Gay Hooker at this making workshop.

Where: Adelaide City Library, Third Floor, Rundle Place
When: Friday 18 September 2020, from 5:00pm to 7:30pm
Please note: Materials and crochet hooks provided.
