Description

Have you felt that someone has put a label on you that didn’t fit? This performance asks: What labels can I shed? What labels do I keep? What do I see if I remove the lens of the label? Youth dance company DRILL is premiering a new work dissolving labels.

This talented group of young people (aged 13-25) have reflected their own experience of labels, to create a layered work of contemporary youth performance, featuring dance, singing, sound and theatre. Created by the young people in collaboration with DRILL Artistic Director Isabella Stone (dance), Billie Rankin (visual arts/design), Davina Wright (theatre) and Richie Cyngler (experimental sound).

‘dissolving labels’ is assisted through Arts Tasmania, TasPorts and the Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund – an Australian Government initiative.
