Event description

From the hands of Joanne Petit-Frère and her studio moniker, JoGoesWest comes BRAIDWOMAN: braiding archaeologist, sculptor of memory, and commissioned by icons like Beyoncé, Janelle Monáe, and Solange. This visually immersive performance blends art, sculpture, and cinematic storytelling, transforming braids into modular sculptures, braided armor, and elaborate headdresses. Celebrating identity, ancestry, and cultural memory, it combines live performance, projected imagery, and wearable art. Accessible and inclusive, BRAIDWOMAN invites audiences of all abilities to experience a journey of creativity, heritage, and wonder.
