Kasia Tons is an Adelaide based textile artist working with hand embroidery, soft sculpture and wearables. In this one-off workshop Kasia will guide participants through the process of creating a mask or disguise, using hand stitching techniques, beading, embroidery and applique.
Kasia’s work explores themes of identity, mental health and connection, and she is particularly interested in how masks and disguises can allow the wearer to hide or amplify parts of their personality or take on external personae.
Participants will have the opportunity to document their character through a photoshoot in a custom set on-site. Each participant will leave the workshop with a textile mask they have created and digital photographs of them wearing their disguise.
Designated accessible unisex toilet available.
