John Flanagan Willanski

A black and white image of a woman's face floating in a sea of swirling markings. The woman's eyes, nose and mouth are dear lares by similar swirling markings.

About the artist

Illustrator. Mixed Media. Multi Arts.

John lives in Adelaide, where he works as an illustrator and mixed media artist. His back- ground is in both graphic design and storytelling.
Since the birth of his daughter in 2012 the focus of his work has shifted greatly toward disability with a particular focus on the shift from the medical to social models.
He believes that art is about communication and making connections between people. Art moves people, brings them joy, makes them think, gives them empathy, but most of all art is fun.
