Embrace is a new multi-platform arts festival being developed by local queer disabled cabaret producer Diana Divine as part of their Emerging Creative Producer residency with Carclew’s “Sharehouse” program.
Ultimately, the festival aims to boost the platform of, and provide a direct cash infusion to disabled artists across multiple platforms. The festival will feature an opening night fundraising gala, with proceeds being split amongst all festival presenters to further their future artistic practice.
Embrace Fest will run across 3-5 accessible venues with Carclew House acting as the festival hub. Presenters will book independently with these venues at the shortlist stage.
Any (self identifying) disabled artist or disability-led artistic company. The festival will accept open EOIs, and select fifteen 2022 participants via committee, prioritising local works and presenters with intersecting marginalisations (eg IBPOC, Queer/LGBTQIA artists).
